Introduction

The Pen tool is used to draw lines and curves on the Flash Stage.

Straight Lines

Select the Pen tool, shortcut P, and click on the Stage at the starting point of the curve which you are drawing. Notice that the cursor changes to an arrow head. Then click on another part of the Stage, and Flash draws a straight line to the new point. I have attached some figures showing this drawing.

Curve

Select the Pen tool and click and drag on the stage. Click elsewhere on the stage, and notice that Flash draws a curved line. Drag the second point and notice that the curve changes. The figures show a curve being drawn.

Subselection

A line is composed of several anchor points. I have done a simple example with two anchor points. Select the Subselection tool and select an anchor and then drag. The curve changes. The figures show this.

Complex

By ending these methods of this tutorial, then complex curves can be drawn as shown in the figure. Flash fills enclosed areas when using the Pen tool.

Summary

This tutorial introduced the Pen tool and how to draw straight and curved lines.
